ABOUT THE EVENTS
The day begins a flag raising ceremony at 7:00 a.m., followed by a hearty breakfast beginning at 7:30 a.m. Breakfast is served hot and healthy for a nominal per person cost. Price discounts are available for families to help those with extra mouths and tummies.
The parade starts at 9:00 a.m. The parade route begins at 300 North 300 East, then south to Telegraph Street, then west to 100 West, then north to 100 North.
Activities will begin at 10 a.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial Park located at 100 East Telegraph Street and at the Willard O. Nisson Park, located at 300 West Telegraph Street, with wagon rides between the two parks. Traditional foot races for all ages start at 10:30 a.m. Live entertainment will be ongoing the entire day and events will wrap up around 2:00 p.m. We have great prizes for young and old. Games include but are not limited to: ring toss, fish pond, football throw, stick pull, fast pitch, golf wiffle ball, basketball free throwing, air soft gun target shooting, and paint ball gun shooting, dunk tank, jumping jack house, ring the bell strong man hammer, face painting, panning for gold, cake walk, rides for the kids, historical horse drawn wagon tours and mountain man village. Food of all kinds will be available, including snow cones, cotton candy, hard-scooped ice cream, specialty sodas, burgers and the ever famous and most popular “pronto pups” and funnel cakes.
The celebration will culminate with a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. near the Community Center located at 200 North 300 East.
TV AND STREAMING COVERAGE
The July 23th parade will air live on KCSG-TV state wide on Direct-TV 44, Dish Network 37, Baja Cable 6, Reliance Cable 6 and Comcast Cable 116. This will be a 2 hour broadcast with fun-filled entertainment and live guest appearances including full coverage of the parade and activities.
